Holger Rummer, Painter (Paraplegic)
The PHILOSOPHY of Holger Rummer:
I understand by abstract painting the art which is detached from every concrete image. She is real and connected with the reality, because abstract painting originates from her.
Painting means for me to release a load, create something new and, in the end, to live. Besides, not the result, but the process of the forming is important.
Every first brushstroke of a picture challenges me. This process also does not end if the ready picture hangs on the wall. Since then the viewer is invited to discover something new for himself.
In my works of art I incorporate the space, the colour and the light in the same manner. Besides, pictures are influenced mainly emotionally, my sculptures are mostly a head-steered. To realise a facet me.
This contrast lets arise a tension which allows the expression strength. With every work of art I give a piece of myself. The new can grow. With the readiness to allow insides a way to get Outside, concealed can be learnable and take a shape. This process begins in every work anew. The result and the reactions are often astonishing for me.
Not the unequivocal, but the ambiguous makes curious. My motives should give occasion To argue with them. Thereby its interpretation can be defeated by a constant change.
The viewer of my works of art is invited to admit emotions and to dive into another world.
I would like to invite you warmly to experience my pictures and sculptures with desire and interest.

The PAINTING STYLE of Holger Rummer:
Today I paint mainly with acrylic colours and different fillers. Besides, I use the different technologies which can exist, e.g., of several, to overlapping coats of paint. Time outbalances the form another sometimes the colour, but to me every picture is importantly clarity and intensity emits. Sometimes I have the ready picture in the head and must transfer it only on the canvas, or I leave free run to my feelings and the picture originates only on the canvas. This process is the more exciting for me because I do not know the result at the beginning myself and to see the colour on the canvas explodes and it fills bit by bit with life is a little bit completely elementary. Even if to my pictures of something concrete the abstract is inherent overlaid in my compositions and space leaves to the viewer to the interpretation. I would like to give to everybody the possibility to experience the strength of the colours and to feel to create thereby a personal and independent experience.
